Odo Community Guidelines
Odo exists so people in Ghana — and Ghanaians anywhere — can meet each other authentically. These guidelines describe how to be on Odo. Break them and you'll be removed.
Be real
- Use your real name and current photos. No filters that materially change your appearance.
- Verify your selfie. It's the single biggest signal to other users that you're who you say.
- Don't use photos of someone else, AI-generated faces, or celebrity images.
- Don't pretend to be a different age, gender, or location.
Be respectful
- No harassment, slurs, threats, or unsolicited explicit content.
- "No" means no. Stop messaging someone if they've stopped responding.
- Don't share other users' photos, messages, voice notes, or stories outside Odo.
- Disagreements happen — handle them politely. If you can't, unmatch.
Be safe
- Never send money to someone you've matched with on Odo. Romance scams are real and we will permanently ban anyone who solicits money. Report them.
- Don't share your home address or financial details until you've met in person and trust the other person.
- Meet new people in public places. Tell a friend where you're going.
- Use the in-app sensitive-data warnings — they exist to protect you.
- If something feels wrong, it probably is.
Don't post
- Nudity, sexually explicit content, or anything sexual involving people who appear under 18 — these are bans on first offence and will be reported to authorities.
- Violent, gory, or graphic content.
- Hateful content directed at any race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Drugs, weapons, or anything illegal under Ghanaian law.
- Spam, MLM pitches, or solicitations for paid services.
- Personal contact info in your bio or photos (phone numbers, social handles to drive users off-platform). Use Odo's chat and the @odo.connect verified Instagram link.
Reporting
If someone breaks these rules, tap their profile → Report. We take every report seriously. Five pending reports auto-deactivate an account pending admin review. We do not share who reported whom.
Reports we take most seriously and act on fastest:
- Underage user
- Sexual content
- Harassment or threats
- Money or scam solicitations
Bans
We may permanently ban accounts that:
- Send sexual content to anyone
- Threaten violence
- Solicit money
- Repeatedly catfish or impersonate others
- Use automation to scrape, swipe, or message at scale
Banned accounts may not create new accounts. We use phone number, device, and selfie matching to detect ban evasion.
